We Understand This Can Feel Overwhelming

You might be nervous, unsure, or just not ready to make any decisions yet. That’s completely okay. Your appointment is about getting information and support — nothing more. The appointment is about you.

No Pressure

We will never pressure you toward any specific decision about your pregnancy. Our role is to provide you with accurate medical information so you can decide what’s right for you.

No Judgment

It doesn’t matter what your situation is, how old you are, or what you’re considering. Our staff treats every person who walks through our doors with respect and compassion.

Your Pace

There’s no timer on your appointment. If you need more time to think, ask questions, or just sit quietly, that’s fine. We move at your speed, not ours.

Your Visit, Step by Step

Most first visits take about 45 minutes to an hour. You’re welcome to bring a trusted friend, partner, or family member for support.

01

Check In

5 minutes

When you arrive at our center at 415 Cherry St. SE, you’ll be greeted by our front desk staff. You’ll fill out a short, confidential intake form. We’ll never contact anyone about your visit or bill your insurance. Bring a photo ID — that’s all you need.

02

Pregnancy Test

10 minutes

A licensed medical professional will administer a lab-quality urine pregnancy test. Results are available in minutes and are up to 99% accurate. This is the same quality test you’d receive at a doctor’s office — completely free.

03

Meet with Your Advocate and Nurse

As long as you need

You will meet one-on-one with a trained patient advocate. This is your time to ask questions, process your feelings, and talk through what’s on your mind. Just a real conversation at your pace. You will also meet with a nurse to review important medical information.

04

Ultrasound

15–20 minutes

If eligible, a licensed sonographer will perform a free ultrasound. This confirms gestational age, viability, and pregnancy location — critical information whether you’re considering parenting, adoption, or abortion. The ultrasound is always your choice.

05

Options Conversation

Your pace, your terms

Your advocate and nurse will walk you through your three pregnancy options: parenting, adoption, and abortion. You’ll receive accurate medical information, including potential risks, processes, and resources. We don’t make the decision for you. That’s yours alone.

06

Next Steps & Resources

Before you leave

Based on your situation, we’ll connect you with whatever you need next: medical referrals, community resources, housing support, Medicaid information, parenting classes, or adoption agencies. You’re never obligated to return, but ongoing support is always available.

Ready to Take the First Step?

Scheduling is quick and easy. Walk-ins are also welcome. Everything is free, confidential, and judgment-free.

What’s Included in Your Visit

Every service at PRC Grand Rapids is completely free. We never charge, and we never bill insurance.

Lab-Quality Pregnancy Testing

Our pregnancy tests are administered by licensed medical professionals and are up to 99% accurate. Results are available within minutes.

A lab-quality test gives you a reliable answer — more dependable than most home tests, especially if taken early. If your result is positive, we’ll walk you through your next steps.

Limited Obstetrical Ultrasound

If your pregnancy test is positive and you meet eligibility criteria, we provide a free ultrasound performed by a licensed sonographer.

Your ultrasound confirms three things: gestational age (how far along you are), viability (whether the pregnancy is progressing), and location (ruling out ectopic pregnancy). All three are critical before making any pregnancy decision.

Medical Referrals & Next Steps

Before you leave, your advocate will connect you with any resources or referrals you may need. This can include OB/GYN providers, prenatal care, information on Medicaid and insurance enrollment assistance, and community support programs.

We want to make sure you don’t leave with unanswered questions or without a clear path forward — regardless of what you’re considering. ding (H3)

Options Consultation

A trained patient advocate and nurse will discuss all three pregnancy options with you: parenting, adoption, and abortion. You’ll receive accurate, fact-based medical information about each.

This is not a lecture. It’s a conversation. You ask questions, we provide answers. We have no financial interest in your decision, which is why all our services are free.

Your Privacy Is Protected

We take confidentiality seriously. Here’s exactly how we protect your information.

We Don’t Bill Insurance

All services are free. We never bill your insurance provider, which means no one — not your parents, your partner, or your employer — will receive any notification about your visit through an insurance statement.

We Don’t Contact Anyone

We will never reach out to your family, friends, school, or employer about your visit. The only people who know you came to PRC Grand Rapids are the staff members who see you that day.

Your Records Are Confidential

Your medical information is handled with the same level of privacy as any healthcare provider. We follow standard confidentiality practices to protect your personal information.

Will you try to talk me out of an abortion?

No. We provide accurate, medical information about all your options including abortion, so you can make the decision that’s right for you. We don’t pressure you toward any specific choice. We do not perform or refer for abortions.

How long will my appointment take?

Plan for about 45 minutes to an hour for your first visit. Some visits may be shorter if you only need a pregnancy test.

What should I bring?

Just a photo ID such as a driver’s license or student ID. That’s it. No insurance card, no payment, no referral needed.

Can I bring someone with me?

Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring a friend, partner, or family member for support.

I’m a student. Can you help me?

Yes. Whether you’re in high school or college, we provide the same free, confidential services. We understand the unique pressures students face and can help you navigate your options and connect with community resources.

What Our Clients Say

“I walked into PRC feeling overwhelmed and scared. Shortly after my ultrasound, I started meeting with a PRC Advocate through their Support Services program. I needed their encouragement, care, and confidence in my ability to be a good parent. Finding PRC gave me hope and support. The PRC brought peace to my crisis.”

“I called freaking out pregnant and wanting to seek an abortion and this girl on the phone helped me calm down. She really took the time out of her day to listen to my concerns. I just really don’t know what I would have done if she hadn’t consoled me the way she had.”

“Highly qualified medical staff. Licensed nurses as well as registered sonographers to provide care and ultrasounds at the same level as a physician’s office. Caring staff that provides judgment-free answers and information.”
