Pregnancy Chances

Are you thinking about having sex or have you had sex already? What are your odds of getting pregnant if you use condoms? Condoms are the most common type of birth control.

Studies show that if 100 women have unprotected sex for a year, 85 of them will become pregnant.  Of those who use a male condom most of the time, 18 out of 100 will become pregnant. And, of women whose partners used male condoms perfectly, 2 out of 100 of them will become pregnant.  If you would like more information on failure rates for other types of birth control, information can be found on the CDC’s website.
