This video shows what’s happening with gonorrhea, especially the trouble we’re having treating it. This is not a new problem – physicians and epidemiologists have been following this for decades. The video highlights why it’s worth every effort to avoid becoming infected with gonorrhea.
How would you avoid becoming infected with gonorrhea? Do the STD risk reduction strategies you currently use work?
Consider, how important it is to you, personally, to not become infected with gonorrhea. From there, determine how much risk you are OK with. If you want “no risk”, then “no risk” strategies must be adopted. If you are OK with some risk but want to lower it as much as possible, then other strategies are important; for example, stay with one uninfected partner, avoid untested partners (and have a plan for asking them about testing), use condoms 100% of the time and have a plan if your partner refuses to use them, decide what you will and will not do (make this decision before drinking alcohol), etc.
