Here are some women’s clinics in Grand Rapids that may be able to help you, depending on your need.

Clinica Santa Maria 616-685-8400 (730 Grandville Ave SW)

The women’s clinic at Clinica Santa Maria provides obstetrical and gynecological healthcare for the underserved, uninsured, homeless, and migrant workers.  There are eight healthcare providers and several specialists at this clinic all of whom speak Spanish and English.

Grand Rapids Women’s Health (takes Medicaid with signed referral from PRC) 616-588-1200 (555 Midtowne St. NE)

This women’s clinic specializes in healthcare services for normal and abnormal processes of a woman’s reproductive system.  Many services are provided including care during pregnancy, gynecological care, surgical intervention, and ultrasound.  Grand Rapids Women’s Health does take Medicaid; however, a signed referral from the PRC Grand Rapids (or a physician) is required.

Mercy Health Family Medicine Residency Center 616-685-6922 Multiple Locations in Grand Rapids and Muskegon

The Mercy Health Family Medicine Residency helps women obtain Medicaid and establish prenatal care at one of the Residency Obstetrical Clinics closest to them.  There are locations in Kent, Ottawa, and Muskegon counties.

Women’s Health Network Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program 616-632-7283 or 1-888-515-1300 x7283

The Women’s Health Network provides screening and exams for women who are not insured or are underinsured and who qualify based on their income.  Services offered include mammograms, pap smears, clinical breast exams, pelvic exams, blood pressure testing, weight, breast self-exam education, breast and cervical health information, referrals to community resources, medical referrals if needed, and related follow-up and treatment services.  This program is run through the Kent County Health Department and has multiple locations in Kent, Muskegon, and Ottawa Counties.

WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) 616632-7200

WIC is a federally funded program that promotes good nutrition for women and children by providing nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion, referrals to healthcare providers, high-risk nutrition counseling, immunizations, and supplemental foods.  Women who receive WIC benefits are given the Michigan WIC Bridge Card, which can be used to buy food through participating grocery stores and pharmacies.  These supplemental foods meet daily nutritional needs and are high in vitamins A and C, folic acid, calcium, and iron.

WRC assists women who are unemployed or underemployed in developing an action plan, exploring career options, and improving employability.  The WRC has resume coaches that can help assemble or update a resume and cover letters.  They also have computer classes, support groups, a business center, and a working women’s clothes closet.  WRC offers several programs that are designed to provide one-on-one support to help women of all ages and life situations to meet their employment goals.Girl visits several Local women's Clinics

Oasis of Hope 616-451-8868 (522 Leonard Street, NW)

Oasis of Hope provides low-cost or free medical care to those earning less than 200% above federal poverty guidelines with no health insurance coverage.  This clinic does not provide prenatal care.  However, they offer urgent care services, chronic disease monitoring, and assistance with medication, wellness exams, immunizations, cancer screening, and many educational opportunities.

HIS (Health Intervention Services) 616-475-8446 (15 Andre St, SE)

HIS is located in the Burton Heights neighborhood of Grand Rapids, but serves all of Grand Rapids and Kent County.  HIS has over 75 volunteer medical personnel who offer a variety of services including physical, emotional, and spiritual care.  Services provided are family medicine, internal medicine, urgent care, pediatrics, gynecology, cardiology, orthopedics, physical therapy, chiropractic services, dental care, oral surgery, dental hygiene, specialist referrals, lab services, medication support, ophthalmology, optometry, glasses, spiritual care, psychological counseling, social work case management, and interpretation services.  No prenatal care is available.
